The most common form of ground transport for horses is a traditional horse trailer pulled by a truck. Horses can be grouped together with other horses to save time and money. However, if a horse is required to travel in quarantine, accomodations are made in line with the specific requirements. 

Air travel is our specialty, and custom pallets are used to ensure the safe and comfortable transport for the horse. We work with several airlines and ensure that all modifications are checked and double-checked so the horse is safe throughout the flight. 

It is uncommon, but yes. The nature of equine and livestock transport is to expect the unexpected. However, we plan thoroughly and communicate with our customer throughout the process to eliminate and anticipate costly extra expenses.

No, food and water will be provided by Cavaletti at all times. Modifications can be made if horses have a special diet.

Depending on the age of the horse, the destination or origin and where it is being delivered, there are numerous documents, pre-tests and quarantine requirements. Cavaletti has learned the ins and outs of the various requirements and we can help you every step of the way.

We also have stables in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila Mexico, where horses can layover and get pre-tested for any contagious diseases before crossing to the US.

At Cavaletti, most of the horses we work with directly fly from Houston International Airport (IAH), as it is the closest to San Antonio, Texas, where our private, state-of-the-art stables are located. Depending on the customer’s specific needs, horses can also fly from New York International Airport (JFK), or from Miami International Airport (MIA).

At Cavalletti, we utilize the services of our trusted network of veterinarians on most of our frequent routes. If an emergency were to occur, a veterinarian would be called, and the customer would be informed immediately.

We are not an insurance provider, however, we work with several insurance providers and can ensure compliance with your carrier. We also transport horses that are not insured.

Yes, at Cavaletti, we organize trips and transport other animals. Restrictions may apply.

The moment you decide to organize your trip or request a service with Cavalletti, you will be required to pay 50% of the service in advance in order to guarantee your reservation and begin preparations. The remaining 50% will have to be paid up to five business days before the service starts

If this happens after the first payment, the refund will be partial. There will be no refund after the second payment.

Cavaletti regularly works in the US and Mexico, however we also have extensive experience with transports in Canada, Europe and The Middle East. We love a challenge, if you need transport in a location we haven’t worked with yet – we would be happy to research and customize a solution for you.
